MLIB General Election Candidates are invited to participate in the MLIB 2026 General Election Newsletter that will be distributed online and in-person to MLIB Members. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your submission is included. Please submit the final version; multiple submissions will not be accepted.
Submissions should be submitted as Microsoft Word (.docx), PDF, or JPEG. In the case of a handwritten submission, please submit a photo. Pages can be in any format, colour, black and white, typed or handwritten, or large or small font.

Deadlines:
All Submissions must be submitted by April 27 by 1:00 PM.
Late submissions for print publications will not be accepted. Late submissions, including revised pages, will be accepted, but any such late submissions will only be posted on the MLIB website and Facebook sites as an addendum.
Layout:
Candidates will be listed in alphabetical order by last name. Submitting content indicates your agreement to these guidelines. This process ensures equal opportunity and consistency for all candidates.
- Chief Candidates are allowed up to 2 pages of content
- Council Candidates are allowed up to 1 page of content.
- Treaty 8 Trust Trustees Candidates are allowed up to 1 page of content.
- Members of the Land Management Committee Candidates are allowed up to 1 page of content.
Content that exceeds the allotted space will not be included and will be cropped. The Newsletter will be printed on a letter-size paper (most common for loose‑leaf), 8.5 × 11 inches / 216 × 279 mm.
Content Requirements:
Please include your Full Name and the position you are nominated for.
Optional content ideas: Candidacy platform, goals, why you’re running, about yourself, a message to MLIB voters, optional photos, and more.

Lateral kindness is encouraged to help lift our community and keep the election process respectful. Lateral violence, including harmful, disrespectful content, will not be tolerated and may result in the exclusion of materials or delays in newsletter distribution.
The pages are published by McLeod Lake Indian Band without editing and do not necessarily represent the views of the Administration of McLeod Lake Indian Band. The Candidates are responsible for their own comments. McLeod Lake Indian Band assumes no liability.
