Reservoir safety
We continue to strongly urge the public to stay off the water and away from the reservoir shoreline for at least the next year until it’s deemed safe. There are new potential hazards including strong currents, submerged hazards, waves, unstable shoreline and erosion, and floating wood debris and ice.
As expected, reservoir wood debris is accumulating behind a debris boom upstream of the dam site. Debris removal is paused during the winter months.
- All public boat launches on the reservoir are closed.
- Call 911 if you see someone in danger.
- Slope stability and wildlife monitoring is taking place in the reservoir area.
- If you see an animal in distress in the reservoir area, please contact the B.C. Conservation Officer Service through the Report All Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) hotline: 1 877 952 RAPP (7277).
