Cultural Installation at BC Hydro Site C Boat Launch, Invitation for First Nation Youth Collaboration

About the Project: BC Hydro is seeking to collaborate with First Nations on a cultural installation at the Site C Lynx Creek boat launch to acknowledge and commemorate the cultural significance of the area.

Opportunity: We are inviting one youth from each of the six local First Nations to form a collaboration group to create designs for the cultural installation.

What’s involved: Youth will work together with BC Hydro and WSP, an engineering and professional services firm, to:

• Participate in workshop sessions (in-person and virtual) to create concepts for a gathering structure/ space that builds on the three main themes (Dane-zaa Stick House, Indigenous Lean-to and Boat or River) shared by First Nations during project engagement.

Timeline: Meeting Sep 18 (3-4 pm virtually and ongoing)
Compensation: Workshop honorarium ($250 in person / $150 virtual). Mileage at BC Hydro rates will also be

covered for those attending the in-person workshop.

Eligibility: Youth pursuing or interested in a career in art, design, architecture or engineering or related discipline.
