Mental Health Week
May 4 – May 7
Join us for a week of connection, culture, and community as we come together to enjoy a week of mental health awareness.
We’ve planned a variety of activities that blend traditional practices, wellness supports, and fun for all ages:
🟢MONDAY, MAY 4 Mental Health Week opening day
Join us at the Wellness Centre for registration from 1 pm to 1:30 pm.
Opening ceremony at 1:30 pm in the wellness gym,
Ribbon skirt/shirt making with Anita and Georgina in the Band Hall, Elders’ room, 2 pm to 3:30 pm
Mental Health Trivia and Bingo with Cassie and Vivian in the Wellness gym from 2 pm to 3:30 pm,
Dinner at 5 pm, and a comedy show with PG’s Mike McGuire in the Wellness gym.
🔴 Tuesday, May 5 – Red Dress Day
Bus leaves the community at 9:30 am for the walk in Mackenzie, lunch provided before returning to the community. Self-care activities with Cassie in the wellness gym for those unable to join the March.
🔵 Wednesday, May 6 – Wellness & Struggles
Reiki with Tiffany C – book an appointment.
Ribbon skirt/shirt making with Elder Anita V., 10 am to noon in the Band Hall Elders Room
“How do you feel?” session with Jim H., 10 am to 11:30 am in the wellness gym, Lunch provided.
Mackenzie Pool and hot tub booked for MLIB members from 1:30 to 3:30.
Sign up at the Band office to secure the bus for 12:45 pm, leaving from the Wellness Centre.
Fire teachings with Jean (John) D. 4 pm,
Community BBQ supper 5 to 6 pm, games at the Wellness Centre, rock painting outside the Wellness Centre 6 pm to 7 pm.
🟡Thursday, May 7 – Youth Mental Health & Harm Reduction
Willow picking and dreamcatcher making with Elder Maddo, 10 am to 2:30 pm, Lunch provided.
Somatics with Chris B, 1 pm to 2:30 pm,
Mental Health Week closing ceremony, week’s prize draws, Comedy show with Auntie Tic in the Wellness gym at 3 pm.
