TSE’KHENE ELDERS’ ANNUAL TRIP

July 7, 2024 at 8:00 am July 14, 2024 at 5:00 pm

Danache’a, Tse’khene Elders Trip

We are excited to announce an upcoming Elder’s trip scheduled for July 7th – July 14th, 2024. Due to the time of year and the wildfire season already upon us, most of the Elders local to McLeod Lake and Prince George met and decided to do a trip earlier in the season while the air is clearer and cleaner.

This trip will take us to the Calgary Stamped on a charter bus: beginning with a one-night stop in Jasper on July 7th with a visit to the Icefields on our way to Calgary the next day, where we will enjoy a four-night stay (8th – 11th) taking in events from the rodeo to the powwow; then travel to Edmonton on July 12th for a one night stay at the River Cree, followed by a night in Grande Prairie at the Pomeroy on July 13th; the next morning, we will head back to McLeod Lake and Prince George via Dawson Creek.

All Elders are welcome to go on this exciting journey. Please note that there will be no services available for those with limited mobility and MLIB has a strict zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and substance abuse when anyone travels representing MLIB. And please be respectful as a Tse’khene Elder when travelling on behalf of MLIB. Our goal is to ensure that this trip is a joyful and memorable experience for all participants, otherwise there may be consequences regarding future trips.

If you are interested in attending this trip or have questions on this, please contact Georgina Chingee at eldercoordinator@mlib.ca or Cindy Tweed at chr@mlib.ca or call the Band Office and leave a message for Jenine Solonas, recently hired Elders Coordinator. The deadline to confirm your attendance for this trip is June 14th as hotels require names.

We look forward to embarking on this adventure together.
