Tuesday 26th November –
10:30 am – 12:00 pm: ‘Strengths in Traditional Families’ presentation to explore the role of community and togetherness based on the theme of National Addictions Awareness Week ‘Forging Connections’.
1:00 pm-3:00 pm: ‘Alternative Healing Methods’ presentation on various holistic approaches to assist in recovery, healing and stabilization including mindfulness, yoga, and Reiki.
Wednesday 27th November –
1:00 pm-3:00 pm: ‘Grief and Loss Workshop’ and ‘Healing Circle’ presentation recognizing the impact of loss from addiction within the community, followed by an opportunity for people to engage in a healing circle to commemorate those lost to addiction.
Thursday 28th November –
10:30 am – 12:00 pm ‘Naloxone Training’ is an interactive workshop learning how/when to use Naloxone to prevent fatal overdoses.
1:00 pm-3:00 pm – ‘Pathways Towards Healing’ is a presentation around what addiction may look like and the various options available in recovery, recognizing that recovery is an individual experience and people may benefit from different methods and levels of healing.
6:00 pm-7:30 pm – ‘Recovery Support Group’ is a weekly support group offering a space to discuss recovery, wherever you might be in that journey.
Friday 29th November –
10:00 am-12:00 pm – ‘Navigating supporting someone with addiction’ presentation discussing the difficulties in being the family member of someone struggling with addiction and how to navigate this in a way that feels manageable and safe.
LUNCH
12:00 pm-2:00 pm – ‘Remembrance Walk / Healing Fire / Message from Chief and Council’ A remembrance walk to hold space for those lost to addiction, followed by a healing fire to encourage a moment of reflection as Chief and Council share words of the hopes for community in the future. The community is encouraged to share their recovery story at this time if they feel comfortable doing so.
