We wanted to let you know reservoir filling for the Site C project is safely completed. After 11 weeks, the water level at the dam site has reached the upper operating range.

We are extremely pleased with how reservoir filling has gone since we started the process in late August. Our comprehensive monitoring program continues to show key project structures, including the earthfill dam and approach channel, are performing as expected. The changes we have observed to the reservoir shoreline and slopes to date are also within range.  Shoreline and slope stability monitoring will continue over the operating life of Site C.

Environmental monitoring, including wildlife and fish, will also continue over the operating life of Site C.

Please note access to the Site C reservoir will be closed for at least a year for public safety. For more information on reservoir filling please visit: sitecproject.com/reservoir.

Further, we continue to make good progress on the testing and commissioning work for the second generating unit. The second unit is tracking to come into service before the end of the year, which is earlier than our approved schedule.

Finally, we have posted our 18th and final reservoir filling hyperlapse video to the Site C website and it can be viewed here.
