CALL FOR BOARD MEMBERS

McLeod Lake Indian Band is inviting expressions of interest from qualified individuals to serve as Board Members on the Tse’khene Development Limited Partnership (TDLP).

TDLP oversees the economic development and business ventures of McLeod Lake Indian Band. The Board plays an essential role in advancing the Band’s long-term economic vision and ensuring that development activities align with community values, priorities, and sustainability.

Role of Board Members

• Provide strategic guidance and oversight of TDLP’s operations, partnerships, and investments. • Ensure management operates within approved budgets, policies, and objectives.
• Make decisions that contribute to economic growth, good governance, and community benefit. • Represent the interests of McLeod Lake Indian Band with professionalism and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in business, governance, management, or finance.
• Familiarity with economic development, resource industries, or entrepreneurship. • Ability to read and interpret financial and performance reports.
• Understanding of governance principles and the role of a board.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills.

Personal Qualities

• Integrity, sound judgment, and high ethical standards.
• Constructive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
• Commitment to advancing MLIB’s strategic and economic objectives.

Term and Commitment

• Board Members are appointed by Chief and Council for a one (1) year term (AGM 2025 to AGM 2026) with the possibility of reappointment.
• Monthly board meetings and periodic committee work may be required.
• An honorarium and approved expenses are provided in accordance with MLIB policy.

Eligibility

• Preference will be given to McLeod Lake Indian Band Members.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations is an asset.
• All appointees must comply with TDLP’s conflict-of-interest and confidentiality policies.
