About the Project: BC Hydro is seeking to collaborate with First Nations on a cultural installation at the Site C
Lynx Creek boat launch to acknowledge and commemorate the cultural significance of the area.
Opportunity: We are inviting one youth from each of the six local First Nations to form a collaboration group to
create designs for the cultural installation.
What’s involved: Youth will work together with BC Hydro and WSP – an engineering and professional services
firm to:
- Participate in three workshop sessions (1 in-person and 2 virtual) to create three concepts for a gathering
structure/ space that builds on the three main themes (Dane-zaa Stick House, Indigenous Lean-to and
Boat or River) shared by First Nations during project engagement in September – October 2024.
Timeline: February 14 – March 14, 2025 (1 month)
Compensation: Workshop honorarium ($250 in person / $150 virtual). Mileage at BC Hydro rates will also be
covered for those attending the in-person workshop.
Eligibility: Youth pursuing or interested in a career in art, design, architecture, engineering or related
discipline.
